ISLAMABAD: Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was placed under judicial remand on Friday by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Islamabad, according to ARTICLE NEWS.

After serving a two-day physical remand in connection with the judicial complex attack case, the PTI president was brought before ATC judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain's court.

The ATC court denied the police's request for a further 10-day physical detention of the former chief minister of Punjab during the hearing.

Pervaiz Elahi's MPO-issued detention order is suspended by IHC, and he is ordered released.

The court denied the police's request and placed PTI President Elahi on a 14-day judicial remand before sending him to Adiala jail.

On September 1, after the LHC had prevented the police from arresting him earlier that day, the PTI leader was taken into custody a few hours after being released from NAB detention.

On September 3, a case was opened at the CTD police station against Pervaiz Elahi.

According to the FIR, the former CM is accused of providing vehicles and batons for the Judicial Complex vandalism as well as dispatching rioters to Islamabad to do so.

It is important to note that Elahi has been imprisoned and arrested numerous times since the disturbances on May 9.
